John 15:12; This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you….

         I read from Spurgeon’s Morning/Evening devotional this morning, and it was from Song of Solomon 4:7, “And there is no spot in thee”…. and this is what he had to share;

Having pronounced his Church positively full of beauty, our Lord confirms his praise by a precious negative, “There is no spot in thee.” As if the thought occurred to the Bridegroom that the carping world would insinuate that he had only mentioned her comely parts, and had purposely omitted those features which were deformed or defiled, he sums up all by declaring her universally and entirely fair, and utterly devoid of stain. A spot may soon be removed, and is the very least thing that can disfigure beauty, but even from this little blemish the believer is delivered in his Lord’s sight. If he had said there is no hideous scar, no horrible deformity, no deadly ulcer, we might even then have marvelled; but when he testifies that she is free from the slightest spot, all these other forms of defilement are included, and the depth of wonder is increased. If he had but promised to remove all spots by-and-by, we should have had eternal reason for joy; but when he speaks of it as already done, who can restrain the most intense emotions of satisfaction and delight? O my soul, here is marrow and fatness for thee; eat thy full, and be satisfied with royal dainties.”

“Christ Jesus has no quarrel with his spouse. She often wanders from him, and grieves his Holy Spirit, but he does not allow her faults to affect his love. He sometimes chides, but it is always in the tenderest manner, with the kindest intentions: it is “my love” even then. There is no remembrance of our follies, he does not cherish ill thoughts of us, but he pardons and loves as well after the offence as before it. It is well for us it is so, for if Jesus were as mindful of injuries as we are, how could he commune with us? Many a time a believer will put himself out of humour with the Lord for some slight turn in providence, but our precious Husband knows our silly hearts too well to take any offence at our ill manners.”

   After I had read this, I by the gentle influence of the Holy Spirit realized, which seems to be the teaching pattern of late for me, we need to view this and practice it with the assistance of the Holy Spirit amongst ourselves.  I being the first to admit that I have had this struggle regarding myself towards others, but as of late I am coming to terms with this, and by God’s grace I’m acting upon it as He would have me do according to the light given to me to understand.

      We all have areas which “peeve” us off with one another, and inadvertently causes us to question at times ones ‘belief system” and or possibly ones faith all together. But, we are all at differing measures of grace in our place within the Lord.

       And as Spurgeon wrote, particularly the above underlined, I see now, that we must all view one another as our Dear Lord, views us.  Our Lord knows what He is capable of in changing us into His likeness, and causing us to grow in the knowledge of who He is and how He desires us to act towards one another, because He knows “All things are possible with God” through His Holy Spirit.

      We all need to realize that we all have varying gifts by the Holy Spirit to be utilized for the “edifying of the Body of Christ”

Eph 4:1  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Eph 4:2  With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Eph 4:3  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Eph 4:4  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

Eph 4:5  One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Eph 4:6  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Eph 4:7  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Eph 4:8  Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

Eph 4:9  (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

Eph 4:10  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Eph 4:11  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Eph 4:12  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Eph 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Eph 4:14  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Eph 4:15  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Eph 4:16  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

So when we see a fault, or an error in teaching or a mis-understanding of a teaching, we by faith and hope in Christ must pray for one another’s good and be faithful to correct a wrong belief, a teaching or certain fleshly actions, as guided by the Holy Spirit. That in turn would bring Glory and Honour towards His name by edifying the Body of Christ, His Bride and bring about true unity and mankind will take note.

Joh 13:34  A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Joh 13:35  By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

      We have all at one time or another failed in this miserably, and presently still do, but it needs to be corrected.  We need to ask the Lord where we have failed, and when, and ask Him to bring us together as one unit in the faith, as He is one with the Father in Heaven.  We must desist on standing on our “fleshly understanding” of the scriptures, we must stop allowing personal “biases” and personal “prejudices” to stunt the growth of another believer.  We all need to take this to heart, and ask our Merciful Lord to change this within us, to be patient with one another enduring suffering when we are chided for trying to correct the brethren in their erring ways.  We need to humble ourselves and pray for them and their good, so that the Lord would be glorified within them and that He be glorified by doing so.

       We need to surrender ALL our close associations to His perfect will.  If we prefer one another, above the perfect will of the Lord, then we compromise the faith, and the truth that Christ stood for,   we then inadvertently compromise the very Gospel that we supposedly love. We are taught that we must NOT know no man after the flesh.

2Co 5:15  And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
2Co 5:16  Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
2Co 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Rom_8:5  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

That is why we need to ask the Lord for the grace and strength to Love one another in truth and Love in the Holy Spirit, revealing what is acceptable unto the Lord, and Him only.  As stated here:

Eph 5:9  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

Eph 5:10  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Eph 5:11  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

      I love Spurgeon, and though he may have had his faults and errors, anyone who is lead of the Spirit, and is born of His Spirit will know that Spurgeon was close to the Lord and that the Lord revealed Himself through the unction of the Holy Spirit, because it is so prevalent in the words he writes which  brings forth such glorious insight and light into our understanding of our Lord’s ways which leads unto  life.

 Joh_1:4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh_6:63  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

     May the good and gracious Lord bless this to your understanding so that we may grow in the true unity of the Faith which is found in Jesus Christ.

       In His Eternal Love…

In His Garden, still and quiet…..He speaks……love so profound…..His love……which still astounds!

“I Walk in the Garden……I hear His voice….”

Son 6:2  My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies.
Son 6:3  I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.

       I am so greatly awed at the reality, that I, small insignificant me has a living, walking, talking, loving relationship with the Almighty God of all creation.  The one who existed before time memorial, eternal past, and eternal future.  That I have a relationship in common with all those who by faith; have believed, followed, obeyed, and sometimes disobeyed, faltered, doubted, and experienced untold distress due to trials.  From Adam, Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, King David, all the major prophets; the minor prophets, Daniel, the faithful Levitical priesthood, Ester and all the woman honored in the Book of Life, and all those who were the unnamed remnants chosen by the Lord in times past for His Glory.  Then the Lord Jesus Christ himself, John the Baptist, His disciples, the Apostles; Paul, Peter, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the teachers, pastors who lived at the birthing of the Body of Christ, and all those that faithfully served our Lord and His servants.

      We all have the one common denominator, a life in Christ Jesus, who granted us with the Gift of Grace to believe upon Him which caused us to repent of our sins, and turn to Him, to be our God, our King, our Lord, our Saviour…..the Lover of our souls!  This is such an unspeakable, mesmerizing truth, that Jesus Christ, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit lives and dwells within and walks in the Garden of my Heart, a heart which through Him and by Him desires to Know Him, to grow into all the fullness of His purposed plan for my life…….actually…… unto all that know Him.

      For me this is the greatest Love Story my heart, my soul, my mind, my complete being shall ever know.  Psalm 23 is a total expression of that Love that He holds for each and everyone of us that truly Know Him……

Psa 23:1  A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psa 23:2  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psa 23:3  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Psa 23:4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Psa 23:5  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Psa 23:6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

       For He sought me out, He sought us all out, purchased us with His precious life giving blood, cleansed us, redeemed me and you.  Oh….. such a glorious reality that I and all of you have been so blessed to have this life granted unto us according to His Predestined Will…..such Love so divine…..so pure…..so Holy…..such unspeakable, unsearchable Love.

       There is a wonderful song penned so long ago………that still holds true for today, it raptures my soul, it speaks of His Glorious Love that He has for you and me……….

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses

And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known

He speaks and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing

And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known

I’d stay in the garden with Him
‘Tho the night around me be falling
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling

And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known

       His relationship to me is that singular, that personal, tailored just for me…….. it should be true for each of His dear children, such an honour, such a privilege to know that through this relationship, by getting to know Him, and Him crucified, that the Love He shares with me, and shares with you, will and should lead us to Love One another as HE has LOVED us, in Spirit and in Truth.

       Be blessed………...

Psa 67:1  To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song. God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.
Psa 67:2  That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

AMEN!

Apostate Evangelists & Teachers

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 2nd Corinthians 11:13-14
